DAVE SIMISON

Dave has been practicing law since 1980 and mediating since 1998 and focuses on Divorce/Family, Real Estate/Business and Probate. He has extensive training in Collaborative Law and mediation. He has trained others in mediation and was a founding mediator for the Maryland District Court.  Dave is also a trained Parent Coordinator.

He honors neutrality and impartiality in the mediation process. David is solutions-focused and respects the time constraints that many participants experience. He encourages his clients to discuss needs and desires while meeting their challenges with practical and meaningful solutions.

·      Voted Leading Lawyer in Mediation in What’s Up Magazine in 2009, 2012, & 2014.

·      Granted performance-based Certification by Maryland Council for Dispute Resolution.

·      Past Chair of the Maryland State Bar Association’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Section. 

·      Past Co-Chair of the Certification Committee for the Maryland Council for Dispute Resolution. 

·      Co-chaired the Mediator Assessment Project for the Maryland Administrative Office of the Courts

TORI "TJ" MATTON

TJ comes to mediation with a decade of social work experiences that influence and support her practice. She graduated with a Bachelors in Social Work in 2009 from Catholic University and attained her Masters in Social Work in 2010. TJ’s mental health background includes working in crisis management, substance abuse, trauma, and high conflict and dysfunctional family units.

TJ values the process of mediation and the opportunity it gives people to truly listen, communicate and connect even during difficult times.  TJ respects the uniquely challenging experience of each participant and encourages clients to discuss their experiences, needs, and desires while finding meaningful solutions.  TJ values that the mediation process can transform how parties communicate and problem solve down the road with one another or with others.

 

 

Annapolis Mediation believes in the team approach to mediation. Our Mediators offer a balance in professions, age, experience, and gender. The team approach is time and cost effective. Throughout your meditation, we will document your progress and provide you necessary working documents. This assures that your mediation moves forward productively and efficiently. 

Choosing a mediator is an important step and you want to have faith and a sense of trust in your mediators.  Our free 30 minute orientation, gives an overview of the mediation process and how it relates to you.  You will have the opportunity to explain your circumstances. No fees are incurred until you decide to move forward in mediation. If you decide to move forward, we can proceed immediately or schedule a future session. Sessions are typically two hours in length.
